GENTLE PILATES: We work on the floor on an exercise mat and on our feet. Classes are fun, gentle and designed specifically to reduce and prevent back pain while we work on increasing our fitness levels.
It is a combination of Yoga-style stretches, mobility exercises, balance, relaxation and meditation teamed up with the very important components of Pilates: core strength, pelvic alignment and toning and strengthening the body.
STRETCH: In this active stretching class, we target primary muscle groups surrounding the hips, hamstrings and upper back. These areas tend to be tight for everyone, me included! Tight muscles can cause imbalance and pull the body out of alignment. This class begins with warm-up movements to build heat and prepare the muscles for stretching. Most poses are done on the floor and held for 1-2 minutes. Holding poses for longer periods of time and focusing on breath gives the body time to fully relax and open.
ZUMBA GOLD is perfect for all ages and coordination (or un-coordination!) levels. You can be in your 80’s, in your 20’s or any age at all! You can be a great dancer or have 2 left feet. One thing, one very important thing – just because it’s Gold doesn’t mean it’s slow or boring! This is a lower impact and easier to follow version of Zumba Fitness. Dancing, toning, balance, mobility and lots of fun!
ZUMBA FITNESS: This class is suited to ALL fitness levels. You take it at your OWN PACE… doing what feels right for you.
The music is great, the moves are fun and the heart rate is well and truly elevated. We focus on cardio vascular fitness, toning, dancing and intervals of both high and low intensity.HIIT STRENGTH: Improve your strength, muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness as we use nothing but our body weight for this intense 30 minute workout. Push yourself or take it easy and modify – it’s up to you! I will be demonstrating high, low and intermediate options and then talking you through as you complete each muscle group. Think pushups, squats, lunges, tricep dips, core work, inner thighs, glutes etc
HIIT CARDIO: Improve cardiovascular fitness, coordination and agility as we use nothing but our body weight for this intense 30 minute workout. Push yourself or take it easy and modify – it’s up to you! I will be demonstrating high, low and intermediate options and then talking you through as you complete each exercise set. Think high knees, burpees, jump squats, mountain climbers etc.
BOXFIT is a 45 min fitness class based on the training used for boxing such as punching, kicking, skipping, boxing drills including footwork and abdominal workouts – all with a focus on fitness and toning. You don’t need a partner or gloves and pads. But if you have one and the workout is suitable, you are more than welcome to do it in pairs.
SURPRISE CLASS: HIIT, Zumba, Pilates, Bootcamp, Yoga, Abs Butts and Thighs, Shadow Boxing, 30 minutes of pure abs … you never know what you’re going to get in this surprise class!
