This recipe is a little higher in carbs, so please be aware! It contains black beans, arrowroot flour and honey, all of which you can leave out. You could add other veggies and if you wanted a sweetener, use stevia. To thicken without using a carby option, you’ll have to have a play – but there are vegetable gum (xantha, guar etc.) options, almond/coconut flour etc, pureed veggies etc.

Ingredients:
- 1 brown onion, halved
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. Turmeric
- 1 tsp. mixed spice
- 1 Chilli (optional)
- 20 grams tamari
- 30 grams butter (use a nut oil for dairy-free)
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 1 can of black beans
- 1 Tbsp. arrowroot flour
- 500g beef strips
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
Method:
- Add onion and blend on speed 7 for 5 seconds MC on.
- Scrape down sides.
- Add butter and sauté for 2 minutes speed 1 at 100C MC on.
- Add all ingredients except beef, beans and mushroom and blend on speed 4 for 5 seconds MC on.
- Scrape down sides.
- Add beans, mushroom and beef and cook at 100C on slow, reverse for 15 minutes MC on.
